| Eindhoven is an industrial city close to the border with Belgium, approximately 110 km to the south and slightly to the east of Amsterdam. Philips, the electrical and electronics company has its head offices in this city, and in addition to the Philips museum, the city has a technological university, which is why it is known as the “city of light”. It is precisely in this city where the first cd and the first video were created.
In the early 1900s, the city had 5,000 inhabitants and today this is now 200,000, and it is the fifth largest city in the Netherlands. Its most emblematic buildings suffered the bombing of the Second World War several times, but with time it has become a modern, international commercial, industrial and cultural centre.
Eindhoven also has a lot of vegetation; just a few minutes from the city centre there is the most beautiful natural area of the city in the Genneper Parks and Kempen and the Peel.
